History of Middlesbrough Primary Care Trust
About Middlesbrough Primary Care Trust
Middlesbrough Primary Care Trust was created to spend public money on the prevention of ill health system in the United Kingdom.
As a PCT, they worked with other organisations to look after the health of the people living in the Middlesbrough Council area.
Middlesbrough PCT had 98 General Practitioners (GPs) working in 22 GP practices across the area. They were also responsible for ensuring people had access to NHS services provided by Dentists, Opticians and Pharmacists.

They employed a number of professional staff who provided health services including, district nursing, health visiting, school nursing, podiatry, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and sexual health.
All of their staff were striving to provide the services people neede at the time they most needed them. In addition to providing services to patients we also work with other health and social care organisations to make sure that people had access to high quality hospital care, mental health and learning disability services.
